The coronavirus vaccine is safe and effective and remains our best protection against Covid-19 and the surest route to a return to normal life. Across South West London, we have now delivered 740,000 vaccinations, including over 80,000 first doses in Merton.
Earlier this month walk-in sessions were held at some of community vaccination centres. To further encourage vaccination update amongst our most vulnerable populations, this week we will again be offering all day walk-in clinic services and also some ‘twilight’ vaccination sessions for eligible people who have not yet come forward for their first dose.
We hope by offering walk-in appointments we may help reduce barriers and make it easier for some people to take up the offer of the vaccine.
They will take place at:
- Former Gap store, Centre Court Shopping Centre, Queen’s Road, Wimbledon, SW19 8YA: Friday 23 and Saturday 24 April 2021, 08:00-19:30.
These walk-in clinics are for those over 50 years of age who have not yet had their first dose as well as front line health and care staff over 30.
To make sure that we continue to prioritise vaccinating these priority groups, we ask people to bring with them proof of their age, condition and proof of their employment if they are front line health and care staff, like their work ID card.
These walk-in clinics complement the work we continue to deliver across the borough to vaccinate local people including our GP led vaccination centres, GP and nurse led pop up clinics across the borough and outreach and engagement work for priority groups locally.
